Stunning mountain scenery
At Oz, you can make the most of your mountain holidays: swimming, fishing, wind-sailing, and even canoeing.
The hills around Oz climb from 800 to 2,800 metres with a beautiful valley in the middle, so there is plenty of scope for water sports and other activities – white water sports in the mountain torrents, long strolls around untroubled lakes reflecting the stunning mountain scenery, sailing on the quiet waters of the Verney reservoir, and swimming in the turquoise water of the pool at Allemont. Discover 200km of marked pathways, 23 marked itineraries and 3 downhill tracks for confirmed downhill racers.
Discover the wild nature reserve in the heart of the Ecrins National Park. Go in search of the fauna and flora: marmots, chamois, orange lily, gentian…. to name but a few of the best known. Almost 680km of signposted footpaths are to be found in Oisans. From simple strolls to steep climbs, you are bound to find something to suit you! Weathers hikers mustn’t miss out on the famous tour of Oisans: hiking trail No. 54 on walking maps.
Summer glacier skiing
Besides walking in the forest surrounding the resort, walkers can also explore the Grandes Rousses massif, enjoy its sun and exceptional panoramas. This can be achieved with the gondola lifts which start from Oz and enable skiers and non-skiers to:
- Access altitudes of 2000m and marked pedestrian trails, altitude restaurants and Nordic skiing tracks.
- Summer skiing on the glacier Serenne (July)
or Les 2 Alpes 1hr drive
- Admire one of the most beautiful panoramas in the Alps from the Pic Blanc summit (3330m)
- Go to L’Alpe d’Huez (ice rink and swimming pool free with the Visalp ski and Nordic skiing/pedestrian pass sold in Oz)
